Emergency Call Compatibility Notice
Last updated 27 Apr 2026
Stay connected in Emergencies
As mobile networks evolve toward 4G and 5G standards, some older mobile devices—including certain VoLTE-enabled models—may no longer support public emergency calls (999 / 995) within Singapore.
To ensure your safety and uninterrupted service, we encourage all customers to use devices that fully support 4G/5G with VoLTE enabled.
Why this matters now
Global network transitions are already underway. For example, Australia has transitioned its networks, meaning devices that do not meet these modern standards:
- Cannot make emergency calls while abroad.
- Cannot access roaming services within the country.
Check your device compatibility
What you should do
- Ensure your phone supports 4G/5G with VoLTE
- Enable VoLTE in your device settings
Go to your phone settings → Mobile Network → Enable VoLTE (steps may vary by device). - Upgrade your device if it is not supported
